If the Broncos lose to Dallas and Philadelphia to slide into the bye at 4-6, Lock should get a chance to play. If he was so good in training camp and preseason, why not give him a shot against Cleveland when Bridgewater was hobbled? Nobody will ever admit it, but the Broncos must have been spooked by Lock’s second-half play against Baltimore in Week 4.
I would have never imagined Bridgewater keeping the starting job amid a four-game losing streak, but that’s where the Broncos’ confidence level is with him … and where it isn’t with Lock. Even if you do draft a quarterback, can you guarantee he will be any better than Lock? Give the kid a chance with top-grade receivers. Denver has him for a bargain-basement price and he can’t do any worse than Bridgewater. I think it’s time to find out about Lock. They draft Drew Lock in the second round and then refuse to play him because he wasn’t very good in his second year. Had they lost, somebody’s head should have rolled Monday.
